Day 34-40, Bangkok
Arrival We arrived late into Bangkok on day 33 and were upgraded into a suite (again hehe), which was ideal after a long day's travel. Having just left the madness that was India we were struck with just how quiet everything was: no horns, no people shouting and screaming, no cars about to mow you down out of nowhere. In short it was bloody peaceful. On top of that, we had the convenience of our first trip to 7-11 which was a welcome break from the hodge podge corner stores

Day 16-33, A Whole Lotta India
Days 16-17, Varanasi After an amazing couple of days and about 800km of driving we had to once again take to the skies. We were a little nervous as there was ANOTHER storm over Dehli and our arrival was a tad on the sketchy side... To calm the nerves we thought we would be brave and try some Indian fast food in the form of Tiffin Express, where we had a Paneer Dosa. Whilst it maybe looked a bit of a dodgy spot, it was absolutely delicious. We took off no bother and landed in

Days 12-15, the Golden triangle, India
Day 12 and we leave Sri Lanka and say goodbye to our trusty driver Asanka who has driven us all around the island, which is quite sad. There's no time to dwell on it though as we have the mountain ahead of us that is India. We are both nervous about what India has in store for us, we have heard it is mentally busy and the fear of the infamous "Delhi belly" hangs over us. But everyone we know who has visited India has loved it, so we are heading with open minds. Our greeting i

Sri Lankan Round-Up
And so ends our Sri Lankan leg of the adventure and it was such a great way to start things off. We stayed at some incredible hotels, saw some amazing sights and ate some great food. Below you will find the absolute must dos/highlights of our journey as well as the things we would suggest avoiding. (TLDR at the bottom). Must dos Lion rock is a definite must do for us. The climb is not too challenging and is only a little bit scary. You're reward for getting to the summit is

Day 6-11, Yala, Weligama, Mirissa & Galle
The last 5 days have been an absolute blur but an incredibly fun and exciting blur! We started by traveling from Ella over to our hotel in the buffer zone of Yala National Park. The hotel was actually just incredible, we were staying in a pod which was reminicent of a colonial expedition into the jungle (but a lot more luxurious) and the staff literally could not do enough for us. It is probably the most beautiful hotel we have ever been to (Thanks Ange & Isa). We sat and ha

Days 3, 4 & 5 - Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella - Sri Lanka
This is a long one as it covers a couple of days… Updates to the blog have been hampered by some pretty horrific jet, but we are over the worst of it now!! There has been a lot of travel as we have spent around 12 hours driving between our destinations and the winding roads just knock us out, it’s like being rocked to sleep! Sigiriya Our next stop after Colombo was Sigiriya, which is a really small town which is made up mostly of small one story buildings which are fairly ba

Day 2 - Colombo, Sri Lanka
Day 2 in Sri Lanka started as you would expect from us as we slept in and almost missed checkout... We dumped our bags and went a wander along the sea front where we were greated with snake charmers and a UV index of 11 (We thought it only went up to 10...). From here We decided to jump in a Tuk Tuk and head to the floating markets. The floating markets left a lot to be desired unfotunately as most of the shops were wither abandoned or kebab shops... looks pretty tho! We move

Stomp & Chomp
Given that eating is pretty much our entire reason for traveling, this is going to be a rolling post with our ranked list of all the food we have tried, including a score and our thoughts. Egg Kothi Roti Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka. https://maps.app.goo.gl/EKH1ZQb9FdNuxJXS9 Cost: £1.20 Cam's Thoughts: This was actually banging, particularly when you added the chili or what I can only describe as curry oil. The place only had 3 stars on Gmaps, so it was a bit of a risk, but i

Day 1 - Colombo, Sri Lanka
After 18 hours of travel we finally landed in Colombo, sun shining, spirits high and absolutely knackered . We grabbed an Uber from a lovely local called Asanka who also happens to be a tour guide, so we are getting him to show us some of the sights whilst we are here. Colombo is lovely so far, although the roads are absolutely mental! We are staying in a lovely hotel as a wee treat to start the trip, it is our honeymoon after all! Vid of the room below: We started our foodie

And off we pop...
We have been asked a bunch of times how people can keep up with our antics as we travel around, so we thought we would pair a wee blog to go along with an Instagram page. On Instagram, you can see our smiles and see what we have seen; the blog will give anyone interested a bit more of a flavor as to what we have enjoyed, what we think is worthwhile, and what could perhaps be avoided.
