Stomp & Chomp

Given that eating is pretty much our entire reason for traveling, this is going to be a rolling post with our ranked list of all the food we have tried, including a score and our thoughts.

1. Egg Kothi Roti

   Cam's Thoughts: This was actually banging, particularly when you added the chili or what I can only describe as curry oil. The place only had 3 stars on Gmaps, so it was a bit of a risk, but it looked nice enough. Best dish in Colombo so far!

   
   

   Kirstin's Thoughts: Yummy! The roti bits were both crunchy and chewy, which made for an ace texture. The initial flavors were not super punchy but really tasty. Adding the condiments really enhanced it. Really good portion size.

2. Nasi Goreng

   Cam's Thoughts: We had this in a shopping center next to our hotel. It was surprisingly good, full of flavor, and had a good heat to it.

   
   

   Kirstin's Thoughts: Despite being told this would be too spicy for a white girl, the spice level was actually perfect. Hot, but not blow your head off hot. Really tasty overall.

3. Grilled Local Barramundi with mashed pumpkin and coconut rice

   Cam's Thoughts: This was a good dish. The fish was fresh and had a nice crispy skin, and the coconut rice was tasty. The flavors were all there, but for me, they were just a little too muted to get a higher score.

   
   

   Kirstin's Thoughts: Fish was really well cooked, tasted nice but on the blander side.

4. Chicken Curry and Rice

   Cam's Thoughts: A flavorful and spicy curry with tasty accompaniments, again this was in the shopping centre.

   
   

   Kirstin's Thoughts: Bit too spicy for me. Came with a random selection of sides which were tasty, but overall not my fav dish.

5. Sri Lankan Lamprais
