After 18 hours of travel we finally landed in Colombo, sun shining, spirits high and absolutely knackered .

We grabbed an Uber from a lovely local called Asanka who also happens to be a tour guide, so we are getting him to show us some of the sights whilst we are here. Colombo is lovely so far, although the roads are absolutely mental!

We are staying in a lovely hotel as a wee treat to start the trip, it is our honeymoon after all! Vid of the room below:

We started our foodie adventure with a Nasi Goreng from a local food hall (7/10) and a curry which was pretty spicy (5/10 for Kirstin, 6/10 for Cam). Will give more deets in another blog post about just the food as we go.

We then proceeded to get battered by some small Sri Lankan ladies as they gave us a deep tissue massage. Its was rough but exactly what we needed after the long flights!

After saying we need to stay awake to avoid the worst of the jet lag we immeditaely fell asleep and slept through all of our alarms... We eventually surfaced due our slowly increasing hunger and nipped out to find some food in the "Port City", which had a "food harbour", unfortunately it seemed to be filled with international food (and a subway).

We went a wandering and found a place called "Chill" which had some Sri Lankan food. We had a Fish dish and a Chicken dish which were close to being excellent as they had some nice flavours but they were just a little too muted.

Now back in bed, we have enjoyed Colombo so far and we are just absolutely buzzing to be on the start of our adventure together, all smiles and giggles.
